CenterPoint IH-10 Utility Relocation Project

This project, located in Houston, Texas, specified that the existing high voltage lines running parallel to Interstate 10 be installed in a duct bank at a depth of 32 feet below grade so that I-10 could be expanded to accommodate 22 lanes. Stiver Engineering provided construction engineering by designing a series of pits varying in size from 16 feet by 10 feet to 30 feet by 40 feet with a maximum depth of 32 feet. The shoring systems were designed using soldier piles, timber lagging, wale sets, cross struts, and knee braces.
