Bush Intercontinental Airport Pump Station

Bush Intercontinental Airport Pump Station

Stiver Engineering provided structural design to a contractor with two stormwater pump stations at Bush Intercontinental Airport for the Houston Airport System in Houston, Texas. The pump stations were designed to be located on the airport property adjacent to the existing inservice runways. The caisson designs consisted of wet wells, dry wells, bar screens, and partition walls, and a control building was designed to be installed on the top slab of each caisson.

Stiver Engineering provided structural design by designing the reinforced concrete structures to be poured in lifts and sunk into the earth until the cutting edge of the caisson reached the design elevation. We also provided the client with mechanical designs, which included pump designs, piping designs, and hydraulic analysis.
